North One Television, one of Britain's largest independent production companies, has expanded into the Asia/Pacific market. Part of the All3Media group, North One has had much success globally producing sporting programming as well as Factual Entertainment content.

Run by Head of Programming Adam Kay, a 13-year veteran of North One, and Head of Production Jo Ormston, who joined the company in 2001, the Australian office, based in the inner-Sydney suburb of Glebe, was officially opened during a visit Down Under by North One CEO Neil Duncanson in March 2007.

North One Television Australia won its first contract from Tennis Australia in 2006. Throughout the 2007 Australian Open we produced 2 x one-hour daily highlights programmes which were satellited to over 100 International broadcasters. In addition, we provided clips for the official website and produced the 2007 Australian Open Official Film. The final part of the ancillary programming contract with Tennis Australia was for a pre-tournament preview show and for 2 x "Classic Matches".

We secured the contract from Tennis Australia for the 2008 Australian Open, at which we produced everything we did in 2007 plus looking after the video content of Tennis Australia's website and provided video content for other websites, such as the Tennis Channel, ESPN, Yahoo7 and others.

North One Television Australia is also in year two of a three-year contract to produce the Australian Rally Championship. This involves making a one-hour show for broadcast locally on Network Ten and Fox Sports for each of the six state-based rallies, and the upgraded programming will be sold internationally in the near future. The first year of the programmes were lauded by the rally community with the enhanced coverage helping raise the profile of the sport in Australia.

In February 2008, North One Australia was commissioned by Foxtel to produce an eight-part TV show for Fox8 TV. The show will cross the continent in search of the best young footballer in the land, with the winner earning a one-year contract with A-League giants Sydney FC plus a one-year scholarship for a sports-related degree at Macquarie University. The show is not just about football and concentrates on other aspects of the game such as nutrition, media training, fitness and health. Filming will begin in April and the first show goes to air on June 19. For more information go to www.fox8.tv and to view our privacy policy click here.

North One's 3D graphics unit has also produced 3 x on-screen animations for last year's Australian Football League Champions, the West Coast Eagles. These 'stings' featuring the club's mascot are used as part of their Big Screen presentation during home fixtures at Subiaco Oval.

Entering its second year, North One TV Australia is currently in development with Australian Powerboat Organisation, ABC, Network Ten, SBS, AFL, Football Federation Australia and a raft of others in the industry. With the solid backbone of our resources in the UK, we are perfectly poised not just to take on the TV industry in Australia, but also programming for the Asian continent. While sport is the cornerstone of our company, we aim to broaden our horizons beyond this and into other programming genres including Factual Entertainment.

Currently on-air in Australia are several shows produced by North One in the UK: Fifth Gear (Fox), the World Rally Championship (SBS, Fox Sports) and The Gadget Show (Fox).
